The library contains specifically designed classes which you can do in your own time in the comfort and privacy of your own home.

The classes follow four ability levels; Post Surgery, Foundations, Intermediate and Advanced. Classes are typically around 30 minutes long and are based on rehabilitation Pilates and physiotherapy principles.

Please read the class description carefully and choose the right level and class for you, based on an honest appraisal of your own ability. It’s far better to start with an easier class and build up.

Set up a free ‘log in’ to access the video library, then simply purchase the videos you want. You can then access your purchased videos as often as you wish and they’ll stay there forever.

For existing customers who have previously purchased videos. The website hosting of the videos changed on 27/11/24. This means that if you didn’t download them as advised, you’ll no longer be able to access them. But don’t worry! They’re still there. All you need to do is set up your membership and log in, and then re-purchase the videos you want. If you have any questions please contact me. If you’re a new customer, simply ignore this message and set up your membership and log in.

Post surgery

Classes in this series are designed for people who are just post-surgery, and can be started as soon as 2 weeks after your operation.

The classes are safe, slow paced, extremely gentle, mostly they are on the floor on a mat so you’ll be lying on your back, side or on your hands and knees.

Designed to help you reconnect with your core muscles and rebuild your confidence.

In line with UK clinical nursing guidelines and based on physio led clinical Pilates.

If you have been told you have a hernia and are NEW to Pilates and exercise, this is also the level to start at.

Foundations

Complete beginner level class series, using gentle exercises and teaching the foundations of Pilates. Classes are a mix of standing, kneeling and floor/mat work.

For people who are completely new to Pilates or exercise in general or who are just post-surgery.

Ideally you should be around 6 weeks post-surgery to start these classes, and will have done the ‘ON DEMAND’ post-surgery series already.

If you have been told you have a hernia but are NOT new to Pilates or exercise, this is the level to start at.

Intermediate

This is an ‘intermediate’ level class developing and advancing some of the exercises and movements you learned in the Foundation class. You will already be familiar with Pilates and the key principles to take these classes.

You can start to challenge yourself and incorporate some higher level exercises, improving core strength and control. Classes are a mix of standing, kneeling and floor/mat work. Ideally you’d be around 12 weeks post-surgery before starting this level.

Advanced

High level advanced class aimed at those who have progressed through the full range of my classes and are generally more athletic and able to work at a higher level.

These classes include high load exercises and movements and can be challenging, although are still safe and appropriate for anyone with a stoma BUT only after doing Intermediate level. Ideally you would be around 4-6 months post-surgery AND have completed Intermediate level classes. Classes are a mix of standing, kneeling and floor/mat work and may resemble more ‘traditional’ Pilates classes.

Equipment requirements

Most classes can be done without any specific equipment. Just a hand towel or small cushion and a mat is usually all that’s required.

Some classes do need some additional items such as a Pilates ball or a foam roller – please check each class to see what’s required.

VIDEO LIBRARY

On-demand library of stoma specific exercise class videos for all levels.
